Today, I launch the PoducateMe Web site. Tomorrow, I do nothing. The day after that, I might do something, but it won’t be anything strenuous or noteworthy. Hey, cut me some slack. After spending more than a year working on the PoducateMe Podcasting Guide, I think I deserve a little bit of nothing doing. Anyway, stay tuned to this page for information concerning updates to the PoducateMe Podcasting Guide, the PoducateMe Web site and other related topics.

The PoducatMe Podcasting Guide does not address accessiblity. This is a huge issue at the college I work for. Some instructors are comfortable with recording their classroom lectures and posting them online – BUT the step of captioning or providing a text transcript is too much work. What are the recommended ways of handling this? The turn-around time and work involved in an instructor making a podcast “accessible” is somewhat overwhelming – and in many instances is a deal breaker.

You’re right, Cheryl. I should address accessibility in the Guide, and I will make it a point to do so in a future update. I’ll have to do some research on best practices…
